Is coaching like therapy? What is the difference?

No. The difference between coaching and therapy is that therapy is meant to bring you awareness where coaching encourages and shows you how to take action. Therapy is appropriate when you are having a problem in your life and you want advice from someone who is not a friend or loved one and is trained to look at the inner workings of our brains, emotions, and thoughts from a psychological prospective. Coaching is appropriate when you want to take action in some area of your life, whether its in your business, romantic life, or something else entirely.

While a therapist will ask what is wrong and bring awareness to the problem, a coach will ask how you want to take action following the session and guide you to that place to fully take the leap. While both coaching and therapy can help you feel empowered, both use different analysis styles to help clients. While therapy can last for years, working with a coach can take anywhere from three to six months, and sometimes up to a year depending on the clients needs.

Are coaching sessions virtual?

Yes! Inside Out Coaching ATX sees clients from all over the Austin area, nationally, and internationally. We have virtual sessions due to the distance between clients and the steps to get to a meeting. Often our clients with ADHD struggle with time blindness and getting to meetings on time. By cutting out the need to get from the house to the car and figuring out the time someone needs to get from place to place, all clients have to do is click the link and they are ready for their coaching sessions.

What platform do you use for sessions?

All sessions will take place over Google Meet.
